When the countdown reaches zero the timer plays your chosen sound and flashes until you press Stop. Use +1 min to extend a running timer without starting over.
Teaching? Our sister site has a classroom timer with a noise meter, student picker and seating charts.
Frequently asked questions
What formats can I type?
Plain minutes like 7, clock style like 1:30 or 1:30:00, or words like 90s, 2h 15m or 45 minutes.
Can I run a timer on my phone?
Yes. Keep the page open and the screen on. Mobile browsers pause pages that are hidden, but the timer catches up the moment you return.
Is TimerTab free?
Yes. Every clock, timer and alarm is free, with no account and no download. It works in any modern browser on desktop, phone or tablet.
Will it keep time if I switch tabs?
Yes. TimerTab counts from the real clock time instead of counting ticks, so it stays accurate when the tab is in the background and catches up instantly when you come back.
Does it work offline?
Yes. After your first visit the pages are cached on your device, so timers, the stopwatch and alarms keep working without an internet connection.
