Pomodoro Timer

The Pomodoro Technique splits work into focused blocks with short breaks in between. Press Start and TimerTab walks you through four focus sessions, three short breaks and one long break.

Change the focus, break and long break lengths to suit you, such as 50/10 for deep work. A different chime marks the start of each focus block and each break, so you never need to watch the clock.

Teaching? Our sister site has a classroom timer with a noise meter, student picker and seating charts.

Frequently asked questions

How long is a Pomodoro?

Traditionally 25 minutes of work followed by a 5 minute break, with a longer 15 to 30 minute break after every four Pomodoros.

Can I skip a break?

Yes. Press Skip to jump straight to the next phase.

Is TimerTab free?

Yes. Every clock, timer and alarm is free, with no account and no download. It works in any modern browser on desktop, phone or tablet.

Will it keep time if I switch tabs?

Yes. TimerTab counts from the real clock time instead of counting ticks, so it stays accurate when the tab is in the background and catches up instantly when you come back.

Does it work offline?

Yes. After your first visit the pages are cached on your device, so timers, the stopwatch and alarms keep working without an internet connection.
